Cause of death: the autopsy
Korea's fine is 1 million won for a first violation, and the first enforcement fined four big platforms 10.5 million won in total, less than the 300,000 to 900,000 won audit is worth to a small shop. The new 13-type guideline has no legal force, the shop platforms (Cafe24, imweb) own the checkout flows, and selling on Kmong needs a Korean business registration. Rescored from 18 to 11 out of 25.
The numbers
None. It was never built, so there are no visitors, sales or ad spend to count. It died on paper, which is the cheapest place to die.
Could rise again if
Korea makes the 13 dark-pattern types law with a fine cap around 10 million won, or regulators start sweeps of mid-size shops.
