Cause of death: the autopsy
The red team counted 25+ products that AI-grade German B1 writing or speaking; of 17 it opened, 13 grade both, 6+ run a live voice examiner and 8 cover the DTZ itself. PassDeutsch gives all 210 model tests and AI marking free in 13 languages. The why-now (the federal migration office stopping voluntary course admissions on 2026-02-09) was partly reversed from June 2026. Score 2/10.
The numbers
None. It was never built, so there are no visitors, sales or ad spend to count. It died on paper, which is the cheapest place to die.
Could rise again if
The government cuts the DTZ exam itself so people must self-study and pay, and the free rival goes paid.
