Cause of death: the autopsy
Demand letters are a real forcing event, but PicDefense already sells exactly this at $0.20 per image ($20 per 100), including to agencies, and ImgCompliance, a 2026 entrant, sells a $49 one-off audit. The '269,000 letters in 2025' figure behind the demand came from a vendor and could not be traced to a primary source.
