Cause of death: the autopsy

USPS retired its Web Tools API on January 25, 2026, so the forcing date had already passed. Most WordPress shipping plugins had already migrated: of 8 USPS-named plugins with 10,940 installs, only 60 installs sat on plugins not updated since the retirement. Two separate scouts parked it; what was left was abandoned open-source and custom code.

The numbers

None. It was never built, so there are no visitors, sales or ad spend to count. It died on paper, which is the cheapest place to die.

Could rise again if

Packages still calling the old USPS endpoints add up to 5,000+ downloads a month, mostly without a maintained successor.
