Cause of death: the autopsy
Four or more mod catalogs already existed at 0 to 152 GitHub stars, and a 'plugin directory' launch post on r/ClaudeCode got 1 point. Anthropic already has a marketplace with 'Anthropic verified' badges and install counts; the red team put 60% odds on a verified-mods channel within 90 days. Anthropic's directory policy also bans paid product placements, and the money map estimated $0-300 for this route.
