Cause of death: the autopsy
Stripe names another company its preferred e-invoicing partner in its own docs, which was this idea's stop rule, and Stripe is hiring an e-invoicing product manager. At least 8 products already sell the job, one at €9 a month, and US sellers aren't covered by the German rule. The red team cut the base from €0.5M to €20k a year.
