Cause of death: the autopsy
The law makes every accredited provider give 100 free e-invoices a year, and the software small firms already use (Tally, Zoho, Xero, Wafeq) bundles e-invoicing free or for up to about AED 330 a year. Free neutral comparison and matching sites already existed, a Dubai tax agent sold the full setup for AED 750, and accountants are paid by the providers rather than paying for a licence. Clicks cost AED 15-35, so the planned $150 ad test would buy 16-37 clicks against a kill line of 250. Two separate red teams rescored it from 21/25 to 13 and 12.
The numbers
None. It was never built, so there are no visitors, sales or ad spend to count. It died on paper, which is the cheapest place to die.
Could rise again if
If, before February 2027, at least 20 real owners publicly ask which provider to pick and say their software doesn't cover them, or at least 3 providers pay AED 500+ per referred small firm.
